Volunteer Spotlight: Nancy Lopshire

Nancy Lopshire is one of the newest additions to the L&C kitchen. Most days, Nancy can be found baking the delicious homemade desserts that are served that day to the L&C guests. After helping with some holiday cookies in December 2017, she decided this was something she wanted to do on a regular basis.

Nancy and her husband, Paul, live on her grandparents farm near Larwill. They have two (2) sons and two (2) grandchildren. Nancy is a retired registered nurse, where she worked at Whitley County Hospital and in long-term care. Her hobbies include crocheting, sewing, and reading. Nancy stays active in other volunteer roles at her church which include the church council, Bible study groups, sewing groups and the funeral dinner committee. She is also a member of the Double Dozen Extension Homemakers Club.

When asked what she likes best about being a One Community volunteer, Nancy stated, "I like being with the other volunteers in the kitchen and with those we serve. It's a good thing in the community and we need to be community minded."

Thank you Nancy, for your time and dedication to this program!
