Kids Connect

Summer Program

**Program Updates for 2020**

Because of COVID-19, we have made adjustments to how this program would normally be run. These will be in effect until Indiana enters Stage 5 of Governor Holcomb's reopening plan (tentatively after July 4).

  • Meals will be for PICK-UP only between 11:15am and 12:15pm Monday - Friday at the Schultz Center.

    • Kids/families should remain at the necessary six-foot distance if there are multiple people in line.

    • Kids should return home to eat their meals for health precautions.

    • If your child has a sibling and you prefer to only send one child, we will send home meals for each of the kids under 18 in the home.

      • We will monitor this through our registration process. You can register here.

  • Meals will be prepared at the Schultz Center. We are planning to use prepackaged items and cook some meals. As always, we adhere to proper food handling services. We strive to provide your child with a balanced meal.

  • Kids will not be permitted to enter the Schultz Center for any reason until after July 4th. This means we will NOT have programming/activities. We apologize for this inconvenience and look forward to when we can meet again!

Bringing Kids Together

In 2015, One Community partnered with Community Harvest Food Bank to create the Summer Lunch & Activity Program. Starting in 2018, One Community is shifting the focus to a more activity-focused program for kids with the launch of Kids Connect.

Kids Connect is dedicated to promoting the overall development of our community's kids through engaging activities and programs.

Areas of focus: Nutrition, Exercise, Crafts, Imagination, Games, and Education.

In 2019, Kids Connect served 881 meals to 89 kids!
